4th July Competition Winners
JamPot’s flagship product, TheAppBuilder, celebrated Independence Day by offering everyone the chance to win $1,000 just for creating a FREE app and promoting it to as many people as possible. There was fierce competition with ongoing battles throughout the top ten most downloaded apps over the course of the past two days. However, one entrant leveraged the power of social media to great effect – Facebook in particular – to share his app with his community and create a viral effect. Without any further ado, here are the top three:
1st Place, winning a prize of $1,000 – Richard Brown, for Lighting Design Mobile App. View the app.
Richard has created an app for his lighting design business and has used the image gallery to great effect, showcasing completed projects. Customers can upload their plans via the app and browse a range of services offered by the business. Facebook brings a social touch to the app.
2nd Place, winning a prize of $500 – Laura McAvoy, for Equestrian Events NI App. View the app.
The Equestrian Events NI app must be one of the most detailed sources of equestrian events available. Laura has used the app to full effect, listing all upcoming dressage, showjumping and eventing shows in her area. The app is only in its infancy but is sure to be a hit amongst the equestrian community.
3rd Place, winning a prize of $250 – Herman Chan, for Herman is Amazing App. View the app.
What can we say about the Herman is Amazing App! Its amazing!! Herman has used our ‘I am Awesome’ template from the recently launched template bank to create an app all about himself. It has his Twitter stream, Facebook page, Reddit page, and yes, even videos from his YouTube page. Go Herman!
Congratulations to the top three and everyone who got involved.
