TheAppBuilder awarded “Best App” at Mobile Showcase

Posted on September 27th, 2011 by borg

Grassroots professionals from the mobile sector in Ireland met together on Monday 19th September 2011 in Dublin for an afternoon of networking and inspiring success stories by Irish companies.

MobileMonday Belfast and MobileMonday Dublin chapters of the global voluntary organisation had set up this event to allow the 150+ audience to discover what their peers across the border were doing, how they could exchange smart ideas and even maybe cooperate together to improve and export successfully.

Keynote speaker & event sponsors Nokia presented together with Microsoft for the first time in Ireland, articulating the vision and reality of the Nokia Windows Phone.

The last word was given for three minutes each to eight up-and-coming Irish app companies, whose targets were tourists, building surveyors, children, conference call frequent users,  and people who just want to build their own mobile app without the skills for Java, HTML5 etc. We’re delighted to say TheAppBuilder was voted Best App beating two other app building companies in the process. Thanks to Nokia for the cool smartphone prize!  The team devoured it like hungry lions upon our return to Belfast!

JamPot in Silicon Valley

Posted on August 31st, 2011 by borg

JamPot would like to thank Adobe and Intel for a fantastic time in the U.S., we especially enjoyed the meal in the roman restaurant on Tuesday night. There was a lot of exciting discussions and JamPot look forward to working together in the coming months and showcasing what a very innovative company in Ireland can deliver on a global stage (watch this space). It was not all fun for our team as you can see our CTO had to setup office in the hotel and managed to not go mental with working on two different timezones.

Holming Pigeon Windows Mango App

Posted on June 13th, 2011 by mach

The development team have just started working on the “Holming Pigeon” Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) application. This is very exciting as it will be our 1st Windows Phone 7 application that we are releasing to the store.

“Holming Pigeon” is a blogging app that uses all the features supported by Mango i.e. turn-by-turn navigation, audio, video, toast, etc.

If you are wondering why the name well it was inspired by Josh Holmes who is a Microsoft Evangelist and totally awesome (hence the shades and goatie beard).

More on this project to follow as we start working on the screens and the data structure. The BETA will be live on the 25th June, crazy but as someone in the team said “They must think Harry Potter works for JamPot”.
